Day 14: Last day of SVIXP

IMG_0529-2011-01-14-06-43.JPGAs everything in HBS, SVIXP has been packed but great. Tons of new information about entrepreneurship and real life stories. I truly appreciate the candidness of the alumni we have met. And my notebook is now worth reading.

One thing worth writing down is that I walked out of the trip with more conflicting ideas than I walked in. Some people say failure doesn’t matter as long as you keep on trying and making new mistakes. Others say failure is a blemish on your resume and VCs want to back success. Some say it’s better to start with a bigger company and others say finding a small startup and figuring out how it works. But it’s actually a good thing to hear different opinions because that makes me calm down and think for myself. How do I fit into the ideas and what’s potentially lying ahead in these choices. Think about my strengths, what my needs are and what I want to get out from my next move.

Questions that Professor posed were also intriguing: What kind of person are you? Are you a person that creates reality distortion field or a person purely about execution? Are you a heads-down person or a buzz person? Cofounders with overlapping skill sets are a bad idea. And before setting off to find the missing pieces of the puzzle, I need to find what the pieces I have at hand.
